New Product Release

Not that long ago we were at a trade show in LA. We had an opportunity to see what the "next" trends were going to be and to talk to the developers and distributors of the products that our clients would be asking about next. It was during that show that we began to understand what "filter information" really means when applied to new product releases.
During the show there were over 5,200 new product announcements made for a show that was focused on telecommunications. Talking with some of the participants at the show, it became apparent that the amount of information that was being made available would be overwhelming if it wasn't filtered.
Our clients count on us to filter information and to understand what new product release information really is worthy of attention. We spend some valuable time on conference calls, talking with manufacturers and distributors so that we can better provide value and expertise when making recommendations to our clients.
A quick search for new product announcements that made the news for today provided 31,393 announcements and a staggering 25,993,741 blog entries. One notice did attract attention and that was the new product release with this notice, "Please note that PDF's are not updated and products maybe discontinued without notice." That's enough to make us cringe.
